Weight Gain Stories That Are Too Good to Be True

Ugh. Where do I start with this topic? It makes my blood boil, really. I’m talking about weight gain stories which show people going from scrawny, or tubby, to absolutely huge solid and ripped muscle in ‘just 12 weeks’, ‘just 8 weeks’, ‘just one week’.

I’ve seen it all, and frankly, I’m not impressed. See, it’s mostly all bullshit.

There, I’ve said it. You can call me what you want, a hater, a pessimist. I don’t care.

I’m sick and tired of seeing people getting duped by these stories, because most of the time, they are just outright impossible. Yet, it would seem, people love to believe in the impossible, which just feeds more of these charlatans and their money-grabbing lies.

The fact is, it takes time – oftentimes, a lot of time – to build muscle. Same with fat. So, how someone can drop 20 lb of fat and gain 20lb of muscle to become a ripped giant in just 2-3 months is beyond me. In fact, it’s beyond possible.

Most new trainees doing things properly will be lucky if they can gain 1 lb of fat free muscle a week, let alone the 2-4 lb it would take to make the astounding gains many of these muscle building programs claim.

Many experienced lifters on various forums – even those who use steroids – have remarked on many of these ‘transformations’ and have even go so far as saying those kinds of gains in those time periods wouldn’t be possible, not even with steroids.

But these people develop fans, followers. People who get a fraction of the results of their ‘leaders’ and then go telling the world that ‘it works, it works’.

Of course it works, to some extent. If it didn’t, they wouldn’t be in business.

Most of these people though, don’t make gains anything resembling the kind of transformations their program leaders made. And, I’m yet to see anyone claim to have surpassed the results – which given the massive numbers of buyers these programs get, I find very revealing.

My advice is to exercise caution. If something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Like I’ve said, gaining muscle steroid-free and losing fat steroid-free takes time. If you can lose fat at 1lb a week, and gain muscle at 1 lb a week, fat free – during different periods, obviously – then you’ve done exceptionally well.

Just don’t expect the world overnight. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it.
